Route 12. San Cristóbal de Lezaun

The circular itinerary starts at the municipal pelota court in Lezaun, in the lower part of the village. First, we cross Lezaun to reach its upper area and leave along a path through pastureland, heading towards the Andía heights. After overcoming the gentle but long slope, we turn left and cross pastureland to reach the Tauste-Andía drove road. At this point, there is the option to briefly detour from the route, to the left, to visit the white hut.

Otherwise, we turn right and continue along the drove road towards the Sierra de Andía, crossing open grasslands and wooded stretches until we come across the Lezaun Maple Natural Monument. Later, we resume the very gentle climb, which becomes steeper towards the end, to reach the high pastures beside the Hermitage of San Cristóbal, where we find an impressive panorama of the surrounding area.

From the hermitage, we begin the descent back to Lezaun. We return along the same path we climbed earlier and finish the route.
